Music licensing very is expensive. For every one thousand listeners, it costs Old Friends Radio $3.60 per song. This is the amount that must be paid to Professional Rights Organizations, also known as “PROs.” The PROs: ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and SOUND EXCHANGE, collect and distribute these fees paid by us to the musicians, composers, record labels, and/or license rights holders.
Old Friends Radio is dedicated to discovering, locating, digitizing, and airing Classic Vintage Jazz. Yet there is so much more to do! We research and attempt to discover the history behind the music. Information such as band members, solo musicians, and recording locations are investigated so that we may better provide information and knowledge about the music that started it all!
